About Tod's
Tod's traces its roots to a family cobbler workshop started by Filippo Della Valle in Italy's Marche region in the 1920s. His grandson Diego Della Valle took over the business in 1978, renamed it J.P. Tod's after spotting the word in an American phone book, and in 1979 launched the Gommino, an ultra-soft driving loafer studded with 133 rubber pebbles.
The house remains built around understated Italian leather craftsmanship, with the pebbled-sole Gommino and the D Bag among the quiet-luxury staples that define its relaxed, artisanal take on Italian style.
