About Silhouette
Founded in Linz, Austria in 1964 by Anneliese and Arnold Schmied, Silhouette built its name on lightweight, screwless eyewear engineering. In 1983 the brand introduced the Freeline collection, its first rimless glasses, and in 1999 unveiled the Titan Minimal Art, a frame so light and hingeless it later earned NASA space-technology certification.
The house remains defined by rimless purism, featherweight titanium construction and understated Austrian engineering, producing optical frames and sunglasses prized for disappearing on the face while framing it perfectly.
