About Police
Police was founded in 1983 in Italy by brothers Ennio and Walter De Rigo, launched as the first eyewear line under their family's De Rigo Group. The name and attitude were inspired by the sunglasses worn by American police officers, capturing a mix of authority and street-level cool.
Starting with sunglasses alone, Police grew into a full lifestyle brand, adding fragrances in 1997 and watches in 2003. It remains best known for bold, sculptural shield-style frames and mirrored lenses that carry its rebellious, urban edge.
