About Omega
Omega traces its roots to 1848, when Louis Brandt began assembling precision pocket watches in La Chaux-de-Fonds, Switzerland. His sons later moved production to Biel/Bienne and, in 1894, introduced the calibre that gave the company its name, Omega, adopted officially in 1903.
Omega is best known for the Speedmaster Professional, the "Moonwatch," which NASA certified for spaceflight and which Buzz Aldrin wore on the lunar surface during Apollo 11 in 1969, cementing Omega's legacy at the intersection of precision engineering and exploration.
