Lacoste
The French sportswear house born from tennis champion René Lacoste's revolutionary polo shirt and its unmistakable crocodile emblem.
About Lacoste
Lacoste was founded in 1933 by tennis champion René Lacoste and knitwear manufacturer André Gillier, launching La Chemise Lacoste — the world's first piqué polo shirt, worn by Lacoste himself on the tennis court. The crocodile logo traces back to a nickname earned during his playing days and a sketch by his friend Robert George.
Nearly a century later, Lacoste remains a global emblem of French sporting elegance, its green crocodile instantly recognisable on polos, leather goods and footwear that blend understated style with athletic heritage.
