Founded in 1941 as a small family workshop on 34th Street in Manhattan, where six artisans hand-crafted wallets and billfolds, Coach grew after Miles and Lillian Cahn joined in 1946 and pioneered a glove-tanned leather process that softened and strengthened the brand's signature hides.
Coach is celebrated for durable, beautifully worn-in leather goods — structured totes, saddle bags, and the interlocking "C" motif — an accessible American take on luxury craftsmanship.
